Overview

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a small-savings scheme under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

Parents or guardians can open an account for a girl child and make annual deposits at an attractive interest rate.

The maturity amount is intended to support the girl's higher education and marriage expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The account can be opened by a parent or legal guardian for a girl child below 10 years of age.
  • A maximum of two accounts is allowed per family (with exceptions for twins/triplets).
  • Only one account is permitted per girl child.
