Overview
PMAY aims to provide a pucca house with basic amenities to all eligible families in urban (PMAY-U) and rural (PMAY-G) India.
Under the urban component, beneficiaries can receive a Credit Linked Subsidy on home loans, while rural beneficiaries get direct construction assistance.
The scheme emphasises women ownership, sustainable construction and financial inclusion.
Eligibility Criteria
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Low Income Group (LIG) and Middle Income Group (MIG) families as per income slabs.
- The beneficiary family must not own a pucca house anywhere in India.
- Preference is given to houses owned or co-owned by a woman member.
